The Hispanic Center of Greater Danbury, Inc. received $30,000 from The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation CT Affiliate for its “Hispanic Breast Cancer Project.” 

The Hispanic Breast Cancer Project will provide breast health education for Latinas and psychosocial support for Latina and their families facing breast cancer.  Ms. Eva L. Colón, Executive Director expresses, “the need to reach the Latino community and educate them on the importance of education and self examination.  The goal of the Hispanic Breast Cancer Project is to increase the level of awareness of breast cancer in the Hispanic/Latino community in the Greater Danbury area.  The Hispanic Center is extremely grateful to The Susan G. Komen Foundation for supporting this project.”

The Funds received from The Susan G. Komen Foundation will be utilized to support the Health Advisor's position to coordinate the logistics of he project as well as outreach to the porject's target population.
