Ingrid Alvarez-DiMarzo joined the Hispanic Center of Greater Danbury, Inc. in 2008 as Director of Resource Development following a 15-year career in nonprofit and local government. Trained in public policy, Ingrid brings years of experience in nonprofit management, capacity building, nonprofit impact and the effectiveness of their staffs. For the past decade, she has lent dynamic cross-functional experience in high impact program development, implementation and evaluation to the nonprofit sector in New York and Connecticut.
Ingrid assumed Executive Directorship of the Hispanic Center in April 2009 and has been able to build rapport with diverse and broad-ranging audience by consistently bringing forth and inspiring level of commitment. She balances over two decades of operational experience with her personal commitment to effective communication and transformative solutions.
Ingrid holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Public Policy from Columbia University, along with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Spanish, Language, Culture and Literature from Syracuse University. A native of the Bronx, New York Ingrid is the wife of Thomas DiMarzo and the proud mother of a son and daughter, Maximo and Nina.



Penelope Ortega was born in Mexico. She moved to the United States in 2006. She received training in Nutrition and Prevention in 2002 and has been a Girls Scout Leader since 2002. She is involved in the community and her church. As a mother of three young children, she has managed to find some of her time to help the Danbury community by joining the Hispanic Center of Greater Danbury. She started working in June of 2010 as a Bilingual Health Education and Prevention Specialist. Her responsibilities at the Center include helping community increase access to comprehensive preventive health services.
Brenda Rodriguez is the Case Manager at the Hispanic Center. She was born and raised in San German, Puerto Rico. Graduated from the InterAmerican University of PR with a Bachelors of Art in Secretarial Sciences. Brenda worked for 10 years as an Insurance Systems Technician at the Connecticut Business and Industry Association where she provided translation and interpretation services.
